Lasting Community Impact

The communities our infrastructure serves have real needs - patients waiting for hospital beds, families seeking affordable homes, commuters depending on reliable connections. Invesis invests with those communities in mind, delivering social infrastructure investment that improves lives not just for today, but for generations to come.
Sustainability

Throughout the life of our investments, there are opportunities to positively impact communities - and we actively seek them out.

The communities our infrastructure serves have real needs - patients waiting for hospital beds, students in need of modern learning environments, families seeking affordable homes. We measure our impact in numbers: 40,000 students, 600,000 patients, 2.9 million people protected by sea defences. But behind every statistic is a community whose quality of life is shaped, in part, by what we do.

The communities our infrastructure serves deserve more than buildings that function - they deserve investments that genuinely improve their quality of life.

Creating lasting community impact is not something we add at the end of a project. It starts in the way we screen investments, continues through the way we manage and develop assets, and endures in the legacy we leave at handback.

Impact at every stage

Community impact is present from the moment we assess a new investment - built into construction practices, operational management and the legacy we leave at handback. Whether through local employment during construction, long-term operational practices or the way we return assets at concession end, there are always opportunities to create positive outcomes for the communities our infrastructure serves.

Going beyond what contracts require

We work with our partners and supply chains to create social value that exceeds contractual obligations. At Irish Schools Bundle 3, our service partner provides 2,800 hours of out-of-hours building management each year at no extra cost, enabling rugby clubs, athletics clubs and wheelchair sports associations to use school facilities. At Rijnstraat 8, social return on worked hours reached 25% against a contractual requirement of just 3%

Investing in communities that need it most

Our investments increasingly target the communities where need is greatest. In Melbourne, the Ground Lease Model 2 programme is delivering 1,300 energy-efficient homes for vulnerable families, people with disabilities and Aboriginal Australians. In Sint-Jans-Molenbeek - one of Brussels’ most socio-economically challenged districts - the Egied van Broeckhoven School creates jobs, opens its facilities to the community and provides outstanding education for 860 pupils.

Our people, making a difference

Our employees also give back directly - volunteering at hospices, joining coastline clean-ups and fundraising for causes across six countries. In 2024, Invesis colleagues raised €6,427 for community organisations through initiatives ranging from a football championship sweepstake to charity challenges and bake sales. We actively support these efforts with volunteering leave, recognising the role our people play in strengthening the communities we serve.

Lasting Community Impact

From cutting journey times and improving air quality for communities across east and south-east London, to bringing world-class education and community facilities to one of Brussels' most socio-economically challenged districts, each reflects our belief that infrastructure should improve lives not just for today, but for generations to come.
