Why Invesis

Sustainability

Our Commitment

Invesis aims to create a positive impact on the environment and society throughout the entire life of its investments.

From the first screening of a new opportunity to the final handback of a completed asset, sustainable infrastructure investment shapes every decision we make. In 2024 we published our first Sustainability Report - a detailed account of our approach, our performance and our priorities for the years ahead.

Climate & Environment

We reduced our corporate emissions by 30% between 2022 and 2024 and offset residual emissions to achieve net zero. Across our operational investments, 98% are reporting financed emissions, enabling us to develop decarbonisation plans as we work towards net zero by 2050.

Community Impact

Our investments serve communities at scale - 40,000 students, 600,000 patients, 2.9 million people protected by sea defences and 1,300 affordable homes for families who need them most. We aim to leave every community better for our involvement.

Governance

Sustainability is a standing agenda item at every Management Board meeting. We are ISO 45001 certified, conducted a full Double Materiality Assessment in 2024 and integrate ESG considerations at every stage of our investment process - from origination to handback.

Integrating sustainability into every stage of the investment life

Our approach to sustainability is built on a simple principle: it should be present at every stage of an investment, not added afterwards. We apply sustainability screening before committing to any new opportunity. We embed environmental and social requirements into design and construction. We actively manage sustainability performance throughout the operational phase. And we return assets to our clients in outstanding condition at handback.

In 2024 we worked with KPMG to carry out a comprehensive Double Materiality Assessment, identifying 11 material sustainability topics that now anchor our strategy and reporting. We also completed our first analysis of financed emissions across 37 operational assets - giving us the baseline to plan meaningful decarbonisation.

Seeking ongoing opportunities for wider positive impact over the life of investments.

Responsible Investment

Invesis screens every potential investment against an exclusions list and assesses alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals from day one. As investments progress, we deepen due diligence, screen partners for ESG risks and establish sustainability performance metrics that carry through into active management and reporting. Our open-ended investment model means we are in it for the long term - which makes getting this right from the outset even more important.

Active Governance

Good governance underpins everything we do. Sustainability is a standing item at every Management Board meeting and the COO holds dedicated accountability for sustainability performance. At investment level, Invesis Delivery team members sit on the board of every portfolio company - ensuring sustainability is actively managed at the asset level, not just at the corporate centre.

Lasting Community and Social Impact

Infrastructure shapes lives. The schools, hospitals, roads, courts and homes in our portfolio are the foundations of healthy, connected communities. We work throughout the life of every investment to ensure our assets go beyond their primary function - creating employment, supporting local businesses, opening up community facilities and leaving a lasting legacy that endures long after our involvement ends.
