A new 315 kWp solar installation at Park Hall Academy in Solihull demonstrates how long-term infrastructure partnerships can continue to deliver environmental and operational benefits well beyond construction.
Park Hall Academy, part of Arden Multi-Academy Trust, is one of four schools delivered through Invesis' Solihull Schools investment, a 30-year public-private partnership (PPP) with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
The schools opened between 2008 and 2009, and Invesis has continued to support their operation and management for more than 16 years, working alongside its delivery partners to maintain and improve the facilities.
The latest improvement at Park Hall Academy is a 315 kWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system, installed across the school's rooftops during the summer holidays in 2026.
The system is expected to generate around 290,000 kWh of renewable electricity, with over 70% used on site and with the remainder exported to the grid. This is projected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 44 tonnes of CO₂, and generate over £90,000 in savings for the school and reduce the Academy’s reliance on grid electricity.
A collaborative approach
The installation was funded by Arden Multi-Academy Trust through a capital allocation.
Invesis played a central role in coordinating delivery, managing the supply chain to achieve value for money and overseeing the interface between the Academy, the on-site facilities management team and the operator.
Working closely with its partners, Invesis helped ensure that quality, safety and timely delivery remained priorities throughout the project.
Careful planning enabled the installation to take place during the six-week summer holiday period, minimising disruption to the school and allowing the new system to be commissioned as pupils returned for the new academic year.
The Academy has welcomed the successful completion of the project, recognising the quality of workmanship, the effective use of available roof space and the support provided by Invesis throughout the process.
Long-term partnerships delivering lasting value
The installation reflects Invesis' approach to active asset management and its commitment to improving the long-term performance and sustainability of the infrastructure in which it invests.
As the needs of schools and communities evolve, long-term partnerships provide opportunities to introduce new technologies, improve operational efficiency and support environmental objectives.
At Park Hall Academy, the new solar installation is a practical example of how continued collaboration can deliver meaningful improvements to an established educational facility, benefiting the school community for years to come.
