Supporting Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to replace four schools and raise the standard of education across the borough
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council entered the Building Schools for the Future programme to replace outdated secondary school facilities across the borough. In 2007, Invesis was appointed as sole investor under a 30-year PFI contract, with BAM Construction delivering all four schools and BAM FM providing ongoing facilities management.
The programme delivered four schools in phases between July 2008 and March 2009: Archbishop Grimshaw Roman Catholic VA School (1,400 pupils) - with a new theatre and chapel; Smith's Wood Sports College (1,400 pupils) - with a reconstructed swimming pool and sports complex; Park Hall School; and Northern House and Pupil Referral Unit, ensuring the programme serves pupils with a wide range of needs across the borough. Handback to Solihull Council is due in July 2035.
