Partnering with Somerset County Council to deliver modern schools and support community regeneration
Somerset County Council's Building Schools for the Future programme sought to replace outdated educational facilities in Bridgwater while using the investment to support wider regeneration and long-term community benefits across the area.
Financial close was achieved in September 2010. The project is delivered through Somerset Schools BSF Ltd, the project company responsible for the design, construction, financing and long-term management of the facilities. Invesis is the majority investor alongside Amber Infrastructure and Futures for Somerset.
Construction was undertaken by BAM Construct UK and completed on time and on budget, with both schools opening in October 2012. BAM FM provides the long-term hard and soft facilities management services under the concession agreement. ICT managed services were provided during the early years of the project but are no longer part of the operating structure. Handback is scheduled for 2037.
