Potsdam Parliament
The Potsdamer Stadtschloss was the winter residence of the Kings of Prussia, built in 1669 and rebuilt by Frederick the Great. Bombed in 1945 and demolished in the 1960s, it left a decades-long gap in Potsdam's historic inner city. Invesis led its reconstruction as a modern parliament building for the State of Brandenburg, which opened in 2013 and restored the Alter Markt to the heart of the city.

Partnering with the State of Brandenburg to reconstruct a historic palace and create a modern parliament at the heart of Potsdam
For decades, the site of the Potsdamer Stadtschloss was an empty scar at the heart of Potsdam's Alter Markt, and the Brandenburg parliament was housed in temporary accommodation on the Brauhausberg. A decision was taken to fill this gap - not simply with a new building, but with a faithful reconstruction of the historic baroque facade combined with a modern parliament interior.
In 2009, the State of Brandenburg selected Invesis as sole investor under a 30-year PPP. ZECH Hochbau AG delivered the reconstruction over 40 months, combining the historic exterior designed by Knobelsdorff with additional floor space and modern parliamentary facilities. The building opened in winter 2013. ZECH Facility Management provides comprehensive FM services across the concession including cleaning, catering, energy management, landscaping and waste management. Handback is due in September 2043.
