Working with Cheshire Police Authority to deliver a purpose-built headquarters fit for modern policing

Cheshire Police Authority needed a new headquarters to consolidate operations, training and support services in a single, purpose-built location. In 2002, Invesis was appointed as sole investor under a 30-year PFI contract, with BAM Construction delivering the facility in 17 months and BAM FM providing ongoing hard and soft FM services.

The headquarters in Winsford, close to the M6 motorway, comprises a three-storey main building with four separate wings, a 25-room accommodation block for staff training, ancillary buildings for vehicle maintenance, training and the armed response unit, and extensive sports and recreational facilities including a gymnasium, sports hall and restaurant. A central open-air courtyard with water features and social areas supports the wellbeing of police officers and staff. Handback to Cheshire Police is due in 2033.
