Supporting Worcestershire County Council to transform education across Bromsgrove and Alvechurch
An education review carried out in 2000 identified a significant shortfall in school places and facilities across the Bromsgrove area, prompting Worcestershire County Council to commission a replacement programme through a 30-year PFI contract.
In 2005, Invesis was selected as sole investor and SPV manager. BAM Construction delivered seven schools across five sites - four on existing school sites and three on new locations, including two greenfield campuses. The schools serve pupils from early years to sixth form: North Bromsgrove High School (1,150 pupils), South Bromsgrove High School (1,290 pupils), Sidemoor First School (300 pupils), a through-school campus combining Parkside and Meadows (780 pupils) and the Alvechurch through school with a new community library (660 pupils). Schools opened in phases between April 2007 and March 2008, with BAM FM providing facilities management. Handback is due in 2038.
