Meet our expert, David Swarbrick

Work experience
David Swarbrick joined the company as Managing Director of Invesis UK and Ireland in 2020.
David has worked for over 20 years in public-private partnerships, including roles in the UK National Health Service and as a social housing provider. He spent 16 years at Balfour Beatty Investments where he held a number of senior managerial positions, latterly as the UK and Ireland Managing Director, delivering major, complex property and infrastructure developments in sectors as diverse as healthcare, schools, student accommodation, residential development, renewable energy generation, and distribution, waste and highways.
David is responsible for the leadership and development of the UK and Ireland business unit at Invesis, managing the existing portfolio and further building on our strong track record in the PPP market. In addition to focussing on the traditional PPP market in the UK and Ireland, David is looking to lead diversification in the home markets, including energy transition and digital infrastructure projects. He also leads the development of new international markets on the back of our successful first Australian investment in Cross River Rail, Brisbane.
“After a couple of years away from the infrastructure sector, I was delighted to be approached by Invesis to lead its UK and Ireland team and to support development in new international markets. I’ve joined at a fantastic time, just as the giant Dutch-based pension fund PGGM took a 50% stake in our company. It means we now have real ambition for growth, with the credibility and deep resources that PGGM provides, matched by the deep experience and know-how within the team. I’m looking forward to the challenge of explaining the depth and breadth of what we can offer to new partners and clients in the sectors we target in the UK and Ireland, as well as new markets in North America, Australia, and Scandinavia.”
David lives in London and, in his spare time, enjoys cooking, eating out, and running. He has recently learnt how to SCUBA dive and is looking forward to getting back to the seafloor and somewhere warm.
