Connecting communities through sustainable road infrastructure in Germany.
To address increasing traffic volumes and improve road efficiency, 46.5km of the BAB A9 Federal Motorway, in Germany, was widened from four to six lanes. Upgrading the BAB A9 was essential as the road extension is part of the Trans-European Network (TEN), connecting Berlin and Munich via Leipzig and Nuremberg. Therefore, the A9 plays a vital role in the transportation of goods and services to local communities and beyond.
The project was delivered in 2011 through a public-private partnership in cooperation with the Federal State and the Stata of Thuringia, both represented by DEGES and Via Gateway Thüringen as private partners.Find out more
