Job description Operational Finance Manager
As an Operational Finance Manager, you take ownership of the financial performance of complex DBFM projects throughout the full contract lifecycle.
You work on large-scale, high impact projects and collaborate closely with internal project directors and key external stakeholders to ensure long-term stability and compliance.
You are part of a cross border finance team active in Belgium and the Netherlands. While your primary focus is on Dutch projects, close collaboration between both countries is essential for our performance.
Some key elements of the role:
Financial model & forecasting
- You are responsible for the operational financial model of the assigned projects, including identifying risks and opportunities regarding cash flows. The goal is to continuously improve the operational and financial performance of our projects.
- You analyse, calculate, and forecast budgets. You analyse liquidity positions and propose appropriate measures based on your findings.
Compliance & Reporting
- You prepare periodic and ad-hoc internal and external financial reports for each DBFM project, including monthly, quarterly, annual, and tax reports.
- You ensure compliance with all financial requirements of credit and project agreements and propose solutions in case of non-compliance.
Stakeholder management
- Maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, such as our own project directors, external lenders, shareholders, government agencies, and the external auditor.
Advice and knowledge sharing
- You proactively provide advice regarding the financial position of the projects.
- You encourage the exchange of financial expertise and sharing of knowledge, especially among the operational finance team, project finance managers, and operational managers / directors.
What are we looking for:
Background and key competencies
- Academic working and thinking level.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch (fluent) and English.
- You have at least three years of relevant work experience in external audit or controlling.
- Knowledge of Financial Reporting, Corporate Income tax, IFRS is a plus.
- High attention to detail and integrity.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
