Sod turned at ATU Letterkenny as phase 2 of the Higher Education PPP Programme construction advances Construction milestone at ATU Letterkenny as works begin on new Library, IT & Education Building. Construction is progressing at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Letterkenny on a 5,100m\u00b2 Library, IT & Education Building delivered under Ireland\u2019s Higher Education PPP Programme with the sod turned by Minister James Lawless TD on 23 October 2025. The new facility will provide a state-of-the-art library and learning resource spaces, general and specialist teaching areas, ICT laboratories and supporting accommodation. Together with decanted space elsewhere on campus, it will expand capacity at ATU Letterkenny by approximately 600 students, supporting regional skills and innovation.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the event, Minister Lawless said:<\/p>\n
\u201cToday marks a major milestone in our commitment to strengthening Ireland\u2019s higher education infrastructure. The new Library, IT and Education Building at ATU\u2019s Letterkenny campus is not just an investment in facilities, it is an investment in people, in opportunity, and in the future of the Northwest.\u201d<\/p>\n
