Invesis is delighted to share that our Silvertown Tunnel asset features in the recently launched BBC StoryWorks ‚Transforming Tomorrow‘ series, which is now live and available to watch. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The film showcases the scale, innovation and collaboration behind one of London\u2019s most transformative infrastructure projects – delivered by the Riverlinx consortium, comprising Invesis, Ferrovial, Aberdeen and SK.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions for the International Project Finance Association (IPFA), the Transforming Tomorrow series explores pioneering infrastructure projects shaping the future of communities. The Silvertown Tunnel was featured as an example of how strategic public-private partnerships can deliver sustainable, future-focused infrastructure with lasting benefits.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Partnership Built on Trust<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Silvertown Tunnel, a 1.4-kilometre, twin-lane road tunnel beneath the River Thames, connects Silvertown and North Greenwich, reducing congestion around the 122-year-old Blackwall Tunnel and supporting improved air quality across East London.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2019, Transport for London (TfL)\u00a0entered into\u00a0a 30-year public-private partnership with the\u00a0Riverlinx\u00a0consortium, responsible for the design, build,\u00a0finance\u00a0and maintenance of the tunnel for 25 years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Invesis Project Director Larry Mackey, who has served as Quality Director since the beginning of construction on the Silvertown Tunnel, also appears in the episode. He reflects on the strong collaborative approach that has defined the project and the value of the PPP approach in driving successful outcomes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mackey\u00a0states,\u00a0\u201cBeing part of the team delivering the Silvertown Tunnel has been a privilege. The partnership between\u00a0ourselves\u00a0and TfL has been exceptional, and it\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0what can be achieved when collaboration is grounded in trust\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Silvertown Tunnel stands as a testament to what can be achieved when public agencies and private partners work together to deliver infrastructure that supports communities, strengthens connectivity and helps prepare cities for future growth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
