Job description

Reporting to the Management Board and dovetailing with Invesis’s three existing business units, the new Business Development Director will have responsibility for sourcing investments and transaction execution in Core+ markets including Energy Transition and Digital Infrastructure. Whilst the focus will predominantly be on exploiting Invesis’s greenfield credentials, the new Director will have an opportunity to pursue secondary assets as the business seeks to build its portfolio. Specific, key responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading the development of Core+ business within Invesis Group
  • Responsibility for leading and developing Core+ business within Invesis comprised of both full time team members and additional specialist (internal or external) resource as required from across the jurisdictions.
  • Management and responsibility for all necessary presentations and reporting to the Management Board and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  1. Origination, transaction execution and transition to asset management
  • Identifying and self-generating Core+ opportunities in the market and collating opportunities from across the business.
  • Gathering and structuring information and following internal and external developments to analyse markets, identify trends, and monitor developments, in order to develop a long-term sustainable market vision with regards to Core+.
  • Insightful commercial analysis, due diligence and appraisal of opportunities and translation into commercially viable business models with associated concise business cases to support Management Board decision making.
  • Developing activities and advising the Management Board with regards to business development plans and innovation of the product and service portfolio, to convert these opportunities into secured investments.
  • Working closely and in collaboration with established Business Unit Management Teams to develop viable and sustainable investments with optimised management proposals and strategies for the execution and operational phases that contribute to the commercial goals of the business.
  1. Process Management
  • Design of a robust Core+ origination to investment approval process and investment approval documentation.
  • Execution of / compliance with those processes in collaboration with the business units resulting in a structured approach to the development of Core+ initiatives being in place and being used consistently throughout the organisation.
  1. Stakeholder Management
  • Building and maintaining contacts with external and internal parties, as well as representing Core+ within the organisation and towards shareholders.

Who are we looking for?

A seasoned infrastructure investment professional with a relevant graduate qualification and deep experience of originating and executing successful investments in European greenfield. Possibly including brownfield, projects and companies. This experience will include exposure to at least one of either the digital infrastructure or energy transition markets or other potential sectors with a core+ risk profile. This experience will likely have been gained at another financial investor, a corporate or developer or, possibly, a relevant sector team within an investment bank or other advisor.

You will demonstrate excellent financial and commercial acumen, proven experience in the negotiation of complex transactions and desirably, previous experience of the transition to operations of projects or portfolios. Smart, creative and with a drive to do deals, you will be highly analytical, have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
