Account Assistant

Invesis is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join our Operational Finance team based near Glasgow.

The role of Accounts Assistant will involve the day-to-day financial management of several Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) projects, both UK and Irish projects, which will each have an SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) company and a Holding company as well as some stand-alone companies.  The candidate will work closely with the management accountant for each project.

We are looking for a positive individual with an inquisitive nature with an eye for detail and for the individual to have the following:

  • Accounts experience is essential.
  • Accountancy qualification, or working towards qualification, such as AAT preferable but not essential.
  • Irish tax and VAT experience would be most advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be most advantageous but not essential.
  • Excel knowledge essential.
  • Good communication skills at all levels

The key activities will be as follows:

  • Responsible for raising all sales invoices for each project and booking accurately onto SAP system.
  • Accounts payable
  • Responsible for processing all purchase invoices for each project and booking accurately onto SAP system.
  • Responsible for monthly payment processing for each project using a variety of different online banking systems
  • Tax reporting
  • Preparation of the monthly / quarterly VAT returns and CIS/RCT returns and submission to Revenue
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations of all bank accounts in each project.
  • Maintain credit control function and report monthly any payment issues.
  • Calculation of interest charges on loans, as well as calculation of agency & commitment fees due to bank
  • Day to day contact with Management Account as well as regular liaising with Operations Manager for each project.
  • Liaising and assisting the auditors, providing information as necessary at year end.
